English confetti
Welcome to the English Learning party!
What We Do
We create learning resources to support early literacy.
Our Value
Children are the future and our future should be filled with children who are life-long knowledge seekers.
Our Mission
Helping children become fluent English speakers, readers, and writers, one strategy at a time.
Our Commitment
Creating effective and accessible learning resources for children and their parents seeking English fluency.
At English Confetti, we believe in empowering children to speak, read, and write in English. Our online resources are cultivated for pre-k and elementary level learners so that gaining English fluency is engaging and accessible.
Our mission is to help cultivate learning experiences that move children towards becoming fluent English speakers, readers, spellers, and writers.
The poor academic statistics for literacy skills in primary school learners may be disappointing but we are optimistic and we believe our children are capable of more. Given higher expectations, adequate resources, and sufficient support, we know children can achieve more.

Founder and Educator

Master of Family Life and Youth Development, BSc Biology minor: Chemistry, BA Biology, TEFL Certified for Young Learners and Adults, Americorps Teaching Alum
I’m a former chemist who turned in my lab coat to focus on family life and education. I have four college degrees and a few certifications and I’m confident I still have much to learn.

I have had ample experience being the confused and misunderstood student and ample experience teaching in various settings. I use what I’ve learned from both sets of experiences to cultivate resources and learning spaces that are gentle yet effective.
Where have I taught? I served as a teacher in AmeriCorps, I earned TEFL certifications for adults and young learners which allowed me to teach in Prague, Czech Republic, and I tutored and currently tutor literacy skills for children online.
When I’m not creating, I’m exploring my favorite state of North Carolina and traveling with family. I have two children that I home educate, a stubborn husband that thinks Duke is better than UNC (IYKYK), and a strong affection for dusty old bookstores and small town libraries. My heart is full.

Engineer + Educator

Practicing Civil Engineer, AmeriCorps Teaching Alum, Duke Basketball Super-fan, Homeschool Dad
When I was in high school, I had one career aspiration and that was to become an engineer. I achieved that goal and when I was in search of a unique opportunity to engage with my community, I joined AmeriCorps.
My AmeriCorps service introduced me to teaching English and I was touched by how my service could impact others. Since that time, I have continued in my engineering career but I also continue to make time to give back to my community, right now that’s in the form of book clubs for boys and online tutoring in engineering and math.
